IELTS Task 1 Bar Chart Sample Answer

The bar chart compares the 10 most connected countries in the world. The figures are for two groups: developed countries and less-developed ones.

First of all, the top three countries are all Western. Germany and the USA have identical scores of around 76 and the United Kingdom comes a close second with about 74. These countries are also closely followed by Chile, which scores slightly less at 73.

Turning to similarities, interestingly, South Korea and Japan, which are the only asian countries, also have the same score with 70. However, this is still much higher than the next four countries.

In conclusion, generally speaking, the most connected countries tend to be developed or western countries. Only two out of the ten are developing (Chile and Mexico) while six out of ten are Western.
